Audit, Inventory, Externalization of IT Asset Management
A leader in the development of software for the management of IT and non-IT assets as well as associated services, PCI proposes a Facility Management service starting with an inventory of all IT Assets and other fixed assets, leading to the total management and administration of all IT assets via its IT Asset Management Software.
Using our IT Asset Management tools and our implementation methodology, we propose the following services :
An initial audit to establish a list of needs and to define mission objectives.
An IT Asset Inventory listing all the machines and their hardware and software components (the details discovered depend on the final objectives).
Bar code tags for all of the company’s goods.
Use information gathered by existing tools and integrate it into the IT Asset Module.
Configure and use the software IT Asset Management according to locally-defined criteria.
Furnish a report of the state of the assets at regular intervals.
Services associated with the installation and use of the software
Setting up an information system is more than just furnishing the software packages. Only a collection of complementary tools, the fruit of years of experience, allows an efficient and harmonious integration with a minimum of delays. As well, the users will quickly adapt to the information system, and the proof is in their increased productivity, efficiency and a good return on investment.
5 indispensable services :
Diagnosis and pre-installation
Before any installation in a network environment, a technical pre-installation visit is indispensable. The different people involved in the installation are present at this first meeting, to define system’s activation, installation, training and assistance, as well as the number of people to deploy. This pre-installation is important in order to lay the groundwork, to know the involved parties and their respective roles in the project. This will assure close coordination between all involved, detect in advance possible problems and find solutions, and build a checklist of operations to perform.
Installation
Once a date is chosen, PCI technicians will install the software application.
PCI offers other services as well:
- Furnish and configure servers, workstations, printers, modems, routers
- Install software applications.
Training session
The goal of a successful training session is to transfer to the client the necessary skills to use the software. At the end of a training session, the trainee will have assimilated the necessary skills to put in place and use the target software. The training takes place on site; the client needs to provide certain equipment (a dedicated room, IT equipment, a whiteboard, assurance that the training session will not be disturbed). Training dates will be chosen during the pre-installation meeting.
On-Site Assistance
- After a first apprenticeship phase (training), the users of a new system will naturally need complementary information in order to optimize the efficiency of the system. On-site assistance is a personalized service to accompany the user: specific advice for the configuration, a study of specific cases, recommendations organizational aid.
- Assistance takes place on-site, in a real-world situation, in order to obtain immediate, concrete, operational results.
Maintenance
- Subscription to PCI’s software maintenance contract offers the advantages of telephone assistance, free major and minor software updates, regular user information and software tips.
- The role of telephone assistance is to answer questions and solve problems that may arise during the daily use of the software.
- Telephone assistance may require an Internet connection in order to effect necessary changes.
